Volunteers Building for the Future
Our ministry is driven by volunteers. We welcome people from all walks of life to join us. Get started by completing our Volunteer Application form.
We have an immediate need for a Development Director, skilled and unskilled builders, and committee members. Email us, call 440.564.5848 or come to a Volunteer Workshop to learn how you can expand your horizons and support your neighbors and community. Workshop dates will be announced on this site, or contact our office. Following is a listing of other ways you can support Habitat as a volunteer.
Building Crew
Builds homes in Geauga County. No experience necessary. Building days are Wednesdays and Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Family Selection
Holds several meetings annually to introduce our housing program to families in need, and selects families based on submitted applications.
Family Support
Supports the family for up to two years, from the initial selection process through building the home.
Events and Promotions
Serves marketing function for affiliate including event planning, public relations, management of this
website, speakers and publications.
Office Work
Data entry, mailings, clerical.
Site Selection
Works on acquisition of affordable land. |

Are you thinking of volunteering? Would you like to bring your son or daughter? Would like to have a group like Boy or Girl Scouts, a church group or other groups of young folks get involved? We have a couple of rules to keep in mind.
In recognition of Federal labor laws regarding children and the potential risk to children&rsuquo;s safety on a construction site, no one under the age of 16 is allowed on site while construction is going on. Further, no one under the age of 18 will be allowed to do any hazardous activities. These include the use of power tools or motor vehicles, demolition, roofing, working from a height of 6 feet or more, or excavation operations. If you have a very young group we can accommodate children 14-15 years who can become involved in painting or landscaping a Habitat house when there is no active construction going on at the site.

Keep your eye on Gibson's Gab for updates, as we need all the help we can get. If you have a work group that wants to join in, let me know at least one month in advance. Pick the Saturday and an alternate Saturday and we’ll do our best to make it happen. Send the information to me and I’ll see that it gets to the right people.
