Habitat For Humanity -- Volunteers Building for the Future
Our ministry is driven by volunteers.We are currently seeking volunteers in the following areas. To get started just complete our Volunteer Application form.
We have an immediate need for skilled and unskilled builders, and committee members. Email us, call 440.564.5848 or come to a Volunteer Workshop to learn how you can expand your horizons and support your neighbors and community. Workshop dates will be announced on this site, or contact our office. Following is a listing of other ways you can support Habitat as a volunteer.
Building Crew
Builds homes in Geauga County. No experience necessary. Building days are Wednesdays and Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
ReStore: Truck drivers and loaders, customer service/cashiers, donation processing/receiving, administrative support.

Family Selection
Holds several meetings annually to introduce our housing program to families in need, and selects families based on submitted applications.
Family Support
Supports the family for up to two years, from the initial selection process through building the home.
Events and Promotions
Help us put the FUN in FUNdraising by serving on this committee. We are also looking for volunteers to help with creating and printing promotional materials.
Gibson's Gab Construction News
Well folks, it has been a long winter. We finished last year's new house building schedule and rehabbed 2 houses in Chagrin Falls Park. Some of our volunteers helped the Geauga County Metropolitan Housing Authority (GCMHA) modernize 90 of their suites by replacing old high water-usage toilets, the latest low water-usage toilets.
We plan to start a new house in Chardon, Ohio, this spring. In the meantime, some of our Volunteers will be helping the Chagrin Falls Park Community Center build a shed for them to store the donated materials they receive.
If you would like to be added to our volunteer construction crew please contact Cheryl Graham, Volunteer Coordinator at 440-564-5848. We generally work on construction Wednesdays and Saturdays. If you would like to become part of our Saturday Work Crew (SWC) or our Wednesday Work Crew (WWC) or both, tell Cheryl which day, or both, you wish to work and she will have me put your name on the appropriate list or lists. (WWC or SWC or both) I send out an email, explaining our work plans a day or two before each given work day.
Construction is not the only committee that needs volunteers. Contact Cheryl to find out the available volunteering opportunities.
